The second phase of the Ruabon Bypass Noise Reduction Scheme has begun after the fist phase was completed on schedule.
The works to provide a wearing course with low noise properties should be completed by the 17th July.
The North Wales Trunk Road Agency, on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government, have awarded a contract to Jones Bros Ruthin (Civil Engineering) Co Ltd for the resurfacing of Ruabon Bypass (Phase 2) at Ruabon Interchange (J1) and from Johnstown Interchange (J2) to Croesfoel Interchange (J3).
The works will, unavoidably, require continuous lane closures and contra flow traffic management systems.
Delays are likely and drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to follow the signed diversionary routes. Alternative routes will be in place for road closures and for vehicles over 3.25m in width.
A mandatory 40mph speed limit will be enforced for the duration of the works.
The North Wales Trunk Road Agency and the Welsh Assembly Government regret the inconvenience which will be caused to the travelling public whilst these essential works are being implemented.
