The North Wales Trunk Road Agency unfortunately have to announce an extended work period due to the failure of newly laid surfacing material on the A494 at Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd. The extended work to replace the new surface is due to start on Friday 7 May and be completed by Friday 22nd May.
Due to the nature of the existing carriageway, the works will be undertaken with lane closures utilising a convoy working system with a 10mph restriction. A 7.5 tonne weight limit will also be in force along with its attendant alternative route. Delays are likely and drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
The cost of replacing the defective material and associated costs will be borne by the material supplier.
The North Wales Trunk Road Agency and the Welsh Assembly Government regret the extra inconvenience to the travelling public whilst these essential works are being carried out. The traffic management arrangements are necessary to provide a safe environment for both road users and the workforce and every effort has been made to ensure the disruption is minimal.
Further information on the A494 can be obtained on the website of the North Wales Traffic Control Centre, www.nwales-traffic.co.uk
